No offense but I hate it when people, who have never left a first world country, talk about third world countries as though they are inferior. So I decided to set things straight:

1) 9/10 first world media doesn’t give you an accurate representation of what the third world country actually looks like. Pick a country, see how it’s presented by the mainstream media and then go actually visit and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

2) the poverty of third world countries isn’t purely due to a “lack of good governing” or the “little ability of the people”. What you would be surprised to know is first world countries have played a significant role in hindering the progression of these countries due to their profitable resources and fear of the lead on implications if they were to become self-sufficient and less reliant on western products. Thomas Sankara, president of Burkina Faso and assassinated by France is a good example of this.

3) Corporations of first world countries have ensured the continuance of corruption in third world countries. Why? Because it’s a lot easier/cheaper to pay off a president to turn a blind eye as you exploit his people than to pay the people appropriate wages. So when they say “free” trade, sometimes they literally mean free. The Congo’s north region is a great example of this where the Congolese have been enslaved and are mining coltan - the material used to produce PlayStations.

4) “Foreign aid” is basically first world countries buying third world countries. The media paints it as though we are some heaven sent, God-saviors. However in reality, behind the scenes is are expensive interest rates and the manipulation of politics by first world countries so the economy of that third world country works for them, rather it’s people.

5) First world charities are opportunist corporations as they do not work to rid the people of poverty rather than take advantage of a situation created by other corporations. How? If you read the fine print of World Vision for example, you will realise 20% goes to the people and 80% goes to the staff and company.

First world countries stand on the neck of the third world so chill fam, we ain’t that great

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! The three worlds theory was made by Mao Zedong (this is different in context from the three world model made in the times of WWII) and labeled the superpowers of the world and the countries that were heavily exploited by these superpowers. Stop thinking third world means poor and incompetent. The first world countries put the third world countries into that category through exploitation.
